Rainy days can be tough when you have kids. As long as there isn’t any lightning, you can grab the galoshes and umbrellas and embrace the raindrops. But when the weather’s too cold or inclement, you may have to get creative with indoor activities.
Luckily, Milwaukee has tons of ways to entertain the kiddos, even when playing outside isn’t really an option. Here’s your go-to guide for rainy day activities in the Milwaukee area.

Springs Water Park at the Ingleside Hotel in Pewaukee is your closest option, but we found more than a dozen indoor water parks in Wisconsin and Illinois that are within a few hours’ drive.
From local favorites like Betty Brinn Children’s Museum and the Milwaukee Public Museum, to lesser-known gems like the National Bobblehead Museum and the Spinning Top and Yo-Yo Museum in Burlington, southeastern Wisconsin is home to more than a dozen kid-friendly museums.
