1. Cocoa With the Clauses

Straight from the North Pole, Santa and Mrs. Claus return for this annual cocoa klatch in Cathedral Square Park. This free outdoor event is a chance for kids to share their wish lists, and for moms and dads to snap a keepsake photo. Just remember to bring your camera!

Elves and other holiday characters will also be there, plus complimentary cookies and hot cocoa will be provided, courtesy of Taste of Home.

2. European Village Alive! (Milwaukee Public Museum)

European Village Alive! Milwaukee Public Museum Wisconsin

One of Milwaukee Public Museum’s most beloved exhibits “comes alive” this weekend! Immerse yourself in the spirit of the season, and learn about centuries-old holiday traditions from costumed docents. See holiday artifacts not usually on display, and participate in fun, hands-on activities.

3. Santa’s Christmas Cavalcade

Downtown Milwaukee, starting at the Milwaukee Public Market
Saturday, December 2, 2023, departs at 5 p.m.
Admission: FREE

For the second and final time this year, Santa and Mrs. Claus will ride atop a vintage fire truck on a festive route through downtown Milwaukee. Sarah Fierek will also be on board singing jazzy holiday tunes.

The route departs from the Milwaukee Public Market at 5 p.m., then travels east on Wisconsin Avenue to the lakefront. The Cavalcade passes by Pere Marquette Park, Cathedral Square Park, Zeidler Union Square, Catalano Square, and Light the Hoan between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

4. Live Holiday Shows

The Nutcracker (OPENING WEEKEND!)
Join the Milwaukee Ballet for the world premiere of The Nutcracker: Drosselmeyer’s Imaginarium, and experience Milwaukee’s favorite holiday tradition like you never have before. Michael Pink’s brand-new interpretation features updated choreography, lavish new costumes, awe-inspiring sets, and more!

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
This Saturday is a sensory-friendly performance of this play presented by First Stage at the Marcus Center. Six rowdy siblings are cast in the church’s annual Christmas pageant. It’s up to good-hearted Mrs. Bradley to help them – and the rest of the town – discover the true meaning of Christmas before it’s too late.

A Christmas Carol
Enchanting music, dance, costumes, scenery and special effects will once again fill the Pabst Theater to tell this timeless tale of love, hope and redemption.

5. A Very Merry Milwaukee

Turner Hall Ballroom The Rock and Roll Playhouse Music of the Beatles for Kids

At this annual family event, you can get your picture taken with Santa, make an ornament, and write a letter to Santa, Rudolph, and friends. Cookies, brownies, and hot chocolate will be for sale in Mrs. Claus’ kitchen. Museum admission is complimentary. Photos with Santa are $10 each or two for $15.


6. MATC Parade of Gingerbread Houses

Milwaukee Public Market, 400 N. Water St., Milwaukee, WI 53202
December 1-12, 2023
Admission: FREE

Be a part of a Milwaukee Public Market tradition, and visit intricate and whimsical gingerbread house displays made by the talented students at MATC’s baking program. Vote on the winning house, and place a bid!

The gingerbread houses are located upstairs. Be sure to stop by Santa’s Mailbox and write him a letter. They’ll send it directly to the North Pole! The mailbox is also located upstairs.
