Deck the Streets and Village (November 10, 2023 – January 21, 2024)

Step back in time and immerse your family in the nostalgic charm of the “Deck the Streets of Old Milwaukee” at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

This seasonal exhibit transforms the museum’s beloved turn-of-the-century streetscape into a holiday spectacle that captures the imagination of both young and old.

As you meander down the cobblestone paths, you’ll encounter storefronts festooned with festive wreaths and garlands, each window a vignette of yesteryear’s holiday cheer.

Peer into a confectionery where stacks of striped candy canes and jars brimming with colorful sweets conjure up the essence of a classic Christmas.

Your kids can stand on tiptoes to get a closer look at the gingerbread houses and frosted treats displayed behind the festive windowpanes.

Stroll under the soft glow of vintage street lamps, their light reflecting off the shiny bricks underfoot.

From the welcoming doors of the Hotel Pfister, to the the authentic signage, the brass door handles to the striped pole of the neighborhood barbershop, the attention to detail is meticulous, and each element is a doorway to the past.

Deck The Streets of Old Milwaukee offers a unique holiday outing that’s equal parts educational and enchanting.
